Early Education Centers

CDCLA currently has seven Early Education Centers throughout Los Angeles County.  Our centers are located in Downtown Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, South Los Angeles, Lomita, Canoga Park and Sylmar. 

CDCLA operates the employer-sponsored child care centers at the LAC+USC Medical Center, the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center and at the CalTrans building in downtown Los Angeles. We also provide child care services for low-income working families through funding from the California Department of Education.

Family Child Care Network

CDCLA coordinates a network of Family Child Care Providers clustered around the Bright Futures and Nueva Maravilla Child Development Centers to provide care for infants and toddlers.

Ages Served

• Infants - 6 weeks to 1.5 years of age (in Family Child Care Homes and with limited availability in some of our Early Education Centers)
  

• Toddlers - 1.5 to 2.5 years of age (in Family Child Care Homes and our Early Education Centers)
  

• Preschool - 2.5 to 5 years of age(in our Early Education Centers)

Early Learning

CDCLA uses the High/Scope Curriculum at each of our Child Development Centers. Our programs are developmentally appropriate and the staff is highly qualified. Children are allowed to develop at their own rate and are encouraged to make choices.

• We have a balance of indoor and outdoor activities each day. 

• All children are encouraged to participate in all activities. 

• We have a balance of teacher-initiated and child-initiated activities.

• Teachers conduct developmental assessments of each child twice each year to help us better serve the needs of the children and the families.
